The History of Harmony Fellowship Church

June 20, 1982: A group of 41 people met at the Greer City Auditorium on Trade Street for Sunday School. Harmony Fellowship was formed that Sunday.

June 27, 1982: Sunday School, morning and evening worship services were held with Rev. Dan Smith speaking.

July 4, 1982: The members recognize Rev. Dan Smith as pastor for this group of like-minded people until the church could be officially recognized.

July 25, 1982: The church moved to 114 Poinsett Street  above Gregory's Boutique. The only way to get to the Upper Room was to go up twenty-two steps.

October 31, 1982: The first deacons are elected: James Miller, Baylus Monroe, and Roy Loftis. Rev. Smith was officially voted in as pastor. The church accepted Preacher Dan's recommend that the church  should join The Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers.

May 9, 1983: The purchase of the property at the corner of Suber Road and Hood Road was finalized.

February 1, 1984: The church moved to a new location at 102 East Poinsett Street, a ground floor, store front building.

April 1, 1984: Groundbreaking for the new church building.

October 14, 1984: The first service in the new building.

December 2, 1984: The Dedication Service for the new church building was held.

May 13, 2018: After 36 years of preaching God's Word, Pastor Dan announces his retirement.

June 17, 2018: Pastor Dan retires.

August 11, 2019: We welcomed Terry Wilkerson as our new Pastor.
